Friday 28th June 2019
This week we had our mental health and well being week.
The children took part in activities that promote ‘5 a day’ for emotional well-being: GIVE, CONNECT, BE ACTIVE, TAKE NOTICE and KEEP LEARNING.
We held a non-uniform day today under the theme GIVE. In return for being able to dress down the children brought donations of toiletries to be for Sunderland Food Bank.
We were overwhelmed with the generosity of our children and staff as you can see from our picture of the donations.
Three of our Year 6 boys, Nathan, Jayden and Ashton visited the food bank with Miss Cassidy and Mrs Quill to deliver the donations.
The food bank were delighted and gave the boys a guided tour.
After visiting we received the following lovely email from the food bank co-ordinator Jo Gordon:
We are absolutely blown away by the generosity of the pupils and parents at Plains Farm Academy. We will weigh the stock and send you a thank you poster for your display.
Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity.
Plains Farm and the food bank have entered into a partnership and we will be holding donation events on the last Friday of every month.
