Here at Plains Farm Academy we want all children at our school to get the most out of their education, and attending school regularly is an important part of your child’s education.
Having a good education will help to give your child the best possible start in life. Poor school attendance damages educational achievement and the future progress of young people. Promoting and supporting good attendance at school is essential to learning and attainment.
What can parents do to help?
Make sure that your child comes to school regularly and arrives on time. Doors for years 1 to 6 close at 8.50am prompt, 8.55am for Reception and 9am for Nursery. We ask that parents have children on the yard for 8.45am so they are ready to line up and be taken inside by staff.
- If your child is absent please contact the school office with the reason for absence before 9.30am. If for any reason our lines are busy please leave a message on our answering machine.
- If you want permission for your child to miss school please complete a leave of absence request available from the office well in advance of the absence.
- We will not authorise time off school for holidays. Any holidays resulting in 10 days or more will result in a fixed penalty warning notice.
If your have any concerns regarding your child’s attendance please contact school on 0191 5203109.
